7 Asian Films will compete at the Cannes Film Festival 2016


We present the Asian films that will complete this year at the Cannes Film Festival.

The 69th edition of the Cannes Film Festival will take place from May 11th until the 22th in the beautiful city of Cannes. This year seven Asian films will compete in the main sections. In Competition we found Ma´ Rose (Philippines) by Brillante Mendoza and The Handmaiden (South Korea) by Park Chan-wook. In the Un Certain Regard competition we have Apprentice (Singapore) by Boo Junfeng, Harmonium (Japan) by Fukada Koji and After the Storm (Japan) by Koreada Hirokazu. Imago (Philippines) by Raymund Gutierrez will be competing in the Short Film Section. And finally at the Cinéfondation Competition we have 1 Kilogram (South Korea) by Park Young-ju. During the festival there will be other Asian films screened; Goksung (South Korea) by Na Hong-jin, Train to Busan (South Korea) by Yeon Sang-ho and Exil (Cambodia) by Rithy Panh.
