BAFICI 2015 - Awards

The Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival has finished and these are the winners of the 17th edition.

The Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (BAFICI) is one of the most important film festival in the city of Buenos Aires. Each year the organizers present a wide catalogue with the best independent films from Latin America and the rest of the world.

This year Asia had a great presence with eighteen films in the program. On the Opening Night the festival organized a free open air screen of “The Tale of the Princess Kaguya” (Japan) from Isao Takahata. Later on the film was screen at local cinemas and all tickets were quickly sold-out. In the International Competition Asian films were presented, “Court” (India) by Chaitanya Tamhane and “Songs from the North” (South Korea, US, Portugal) by Soon-Mi Yoo. Another highlight of the festival was a special section dedicated to the North Korea Cinema.
