The Tokyo International Film Festival announced films for the Special Screening Section


The organizers of the festival have release the complete list of films from the Special Screening Section.

This year the Special Screening Section is composed by nineteen movies with a wide range of genres. As the festival announced some months ago they will focus on animation movies so this year there will be six animated films in this section and there are some very waiting titles such as “Applessed Alpha” and “Garm Wars: The Last Druid” that will catch most of the views. Other movies to highlight are the action movies that will please the audience they are “Dhoom 3”, “The Expendables 3” and “The Raid 2: Barandal”.

Appleseed Alpha (Asian Premiere)

World-renowned filmmaker Shinji Aramaki helms “APPLESEED ALPHA” – the latest instalment of the popular sci-fi adventure film franchise based on the original comic books by Shirow Masamune.


Attack on Titan (Part 1) (World Premiere)

Big Eyes

The film is about the painter Margaret Keane (Emmy Adams), who painted the famous series “Big Eyes”, and her husband Walter (Christoph Waltz), who claimed credit for her works in the 1960s. Directed by Tim Burton!

Dhoom: 3 (Japan Premiere)
